Slab Lifting – roads.

No delays on M25.

When slabs needed stabilising on Britain’s busiest motorway last summer, the logical solution for Mouchel was Britain’s fastest ground strengthening process.

Injecting at 1.5m centres, a Uretek team stabilised 300m2 of slabs between junctions 24 and 25 of the M25 in two 4-hour night-time shifts, with normal traffic flow available during the day.

Speed and lack of disruption were key factors in the decision to use Uretek.

“Mouchel, as managing agent for the Highways Agency, recognise the need to anticipate maintenance requirements and work with leading suppliers to mitigate the impact of repair work on road users.” says Dave Thomas, Divisional Director of Area 5 for managing agent Mouchel.

“Traffic volumes on the strategic road network place constraints on maintenance windows, and  it is essential that we have total confidence in delivery and performance of maintenance treatments. To achieve the Highways Agency’s aims of ‘safe roads and reliable journeys,’ maintenance operations need to be ‘right first time,’ which is exactly what the Uretek team were able to bring to this project.”
